The Lewis Arts Studio – Elementary School Program

Arts for Learning’s Lewis Arts Studio (LAS) Program serves 4th and 5th grade students who are  interested in the visual arts. This studio program is designed to help students practice and celebrate creativity, learning, creative risk taking and art exploration.

The Lewis Arts Studio’s professional teaching artists will help participants to develop their visual arts techniques and increase their knowledge of the visual art elements. Participants will also benefit from enriching arts experiences such as guest artists, and field trips.

The Lewis Arts Studio is a year-round program consisting of bi-monthly Saturday sessions throughout the school year and a three-week summer arts camp. Students may choose to remain in the program for more than one year.

School Year Bi-Monthly Saturday Sessions

Includes instruction in visual arts skills and techniques with a focus on creative learning, positive peer relations, self-direction and communication skills; students will participate in an informal student showcase at the end of the school year.

3-Week Summer Intensive

Continued instruction in visual arts skills and techniques, field trips to art galleries/collections or cultural destinations, guest artists, and a culminating student exhibition.
