ArtWorks Site Assistant
Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic and organized team member who thrives in a fast-paced, arts-centered environment to support our ArtWorks Internship Program. The Site Assistant at ArtWorks provides critical behind-the-scenes and on-the-ground support to ensure that the program runs smoothly each day. This includes managing transitions, assisting with intern supervision, organizing supplies, supporting teaching artists, and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space. Site Assistants also play a role in facilitating communication between interns, staff, and families, and are expected to take initiative and work collaboratively to meet program needs. This position reports to: Site Manager
Responsibilities
- Assist with snack and/or meal distribution and clean up
- Manage internship activity/task transitions
- Assist staff and internship faculty during field trips and events
- Facilitate group discussions and/or activities
- Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss and review best practices, ensure participant engagement, and meet program objectives
- Create a warm and welcoming environment
- Serve as a role model to the internship participants
- Ensure ArtWorks interns accurately enter all hours into ADP
- Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, photo releases, & emergency contact forms
- Assist in collecting and organizing intern HR documents
- Assist Teaching Artist in daily tasks
- Learn, understand, enforce, and implement all safety guidelines and program procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, being responsible for program participants’ safety and knowing their whereabouts at all times
- Ensure the assigned areas are kept clean and organized
- Assist with program supply & equipment organization & storage
- Share concerns, comments, and feedback with site and/or program management
Document program activities
Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
- A clear Level II Background Screening
- First Aid and CPR Certification preferred
- Experience in youth development or arts environments is a plus
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM; June 16-July 25.
Compensation:
$18.00/hour
