The 2015 Arts for Learning ArtWorks Summer program will culminate in two events highlighting interns’ work created over the course of the internship.
Please join us in celebrating the success of the ArtWorks program as we conclude our fourth year of providing paid internships in the arts to high school students across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
ArtWorks Visual Art interns will curate an exhibition of their work, entitled LEveLS, opening Saturday, August 1st at 6:30 PM at Laundromat Art Space in Little Haiti. Works exhibited encompass elements of sculpture, installation, drawing, painting and video projection, created under the guidance of ArtWorks Internship Facilitators Yanira Collado and Jean-Paul Mallozzi. The exhibition will also feature works by established artists Pablo Cano, William Cordova, Jeff Dekal, Robert McKnight, Betariz Monteavaro, Gavin Perry, Karen Rifas, and Tatiana Suarez. The exhibition is free and open to the public. All works in the exhibition will be for sale via lottery – tickets for student works will cost $30, while tickets for professional works will cost $100. All proceeds will benefit future ArtWorks programming.
