Program Manager

Job Description:

We seek a diligent, critical thinker who loves program implementation, finding efficient solutions, being a team player, strives for improvement, and is hyper-organized. The Program Manager is responsible for the successful management and implementation of select after-school and summer programs. The Program Manager reports to the Senior Program Director and works with the entire Program Team as well as with the Finance and Operations Department to ensure continuity in systems and information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage afterschool and summer program implementation and maintain healthy and productive working relationships at multiple sites with various partners/clients
  • Ensure contract/grant deliverables are fulfilled
  • Manage after-school and summer budgets
  • Orient teaching artists to program goals and conduct meetings as necessary to ensure program quality
  • Support implementation of successful culminating events
  • Collect and enter accurate program data, such as number of participants, schedules, and demographics in a timely manner
  • Implement program assessments as needed
  • Analyze program data to refine and improve offerings
  • Draft program reports as required
  • Assist with video, photo, and written program documentation for reports and PR

Please note that the A4L staff is small and therefore, from time to time, all staff members assist with multiple functions of the organization. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in effective arts program management for children and youth
  • Expertise in arts, education, and youth programming
  • Exceptional planning skills
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and/or meet deadlines
  • Resourceful and self-directed
  • BA Degree
  • Bilingual English – Spanish preferred

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel and work outside of regular business hours.
  • Office-based with remote work flexibility.

Note: As A4L works directly with minors, background screenings are conducted prior to and during employment

Compensation:

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $54,000-$56,000 commensurate with experience; plus competitive benefits including health, vision, dental, disability, and life insurance. Additionally, we provide a 403(B) retirement plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, paid parental leave, and opportunities for professional development. We also support flexible work arrangements, including remote work options, to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
