Coming next year in the fall of 2024, Arts for Learning will open a satellite office and will provide visual and performing arts instruction at the newly built Children’s Village to serve the children and families of Lotus House, Overtown, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Children’s Village is an extension of the state of the art work led by Lotus House to end and prevent violence and homelessness with inclusive, trauma-informed, evidence-based best practice programming to heal and strengthen children and families. The Children’s Village will serve an estimated 2,500+ children and youth annually.

A4L Executive Director, Sheila Womble notes, “Arts for Learning is well poised to help the children and families at the Children’s Village thrive. With a teaching artist faculty that works with children from preschool to high school, across artistic disciplines and with the training and expertise to deliver truly inclusive programming, we are honored and excited to collaborate and customize programming to meet the needs of the community.”
