Born and raised in Haiti, Kira began teaching by helping out at her mother’s day care center in Port au Prince. Working with children at such a young age has inspired her to seamlessly pursue youth development in addition to her own art making. Kira moved to Miami with her family in 2004. After earning a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Elon University in North Carolina, Kira returned to South Florida to pursue her true passion for art and earned a master’s degree in fine arts and ceramics from Miami International University. Inspired by her extensive travels, Kira is an accomplished bookmaker and collage artist.
