Coconut Grove, FL – November 5, 2015 – Anyone driving down Bird Avenue in the Grove these days has noticed the vibrant mural going up on the walls of Grove Gallery & Interiors.  As a part of their 30th Anniversary celebration they have decided to go back to the artistic roots of the Grove by commissioning a mural by Artists Andrea Karahalios & Ricardo Oliveira.  The mural wraps the corner of their 2 story lime green block long facility and is full of striking vibrant colors is inspired by our famous Grove peacocks.

All of this is a part of Grove Gallery & Interiors celebration of their 30th anniversary culminating in their big bash on November 5th from 7-11pm.  It is catered by the Grove’s own Lasso the Moon so it is sure to be full of the great food, drinks, dancing and the general cleverness they are known for.  As part of their dedication to building great art in Miami Grove Gallery & Interiors is contributing $3 per attendee to the Arts for Learning charity.  [email protected]

If you have yet to discover this hidden gem you are missing out on one of the best shopping experiences Miami has to offer.  What began as a simple frame shop has grown to a full service interior design center with some of the most unique and interesting items you can find.  The gallery owner Sheila Kuhl says “I started this with the idea that I wanted to make the kind of store that I would want to shop in.”  She definitely succeeded; the gallery is constantly changing and with a variety of styles and price points it seems there is something for everyone.  After 30 years of success Grove Gallery & Interiors is celebrating with a new look, a new brand and by investing in the next generation in artists and designers.

The partnership with Arts for Learning is their way to support the growth of their industry to the next generation of artists in the Grove.  Arts for Learning (A4L) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through the arts and community cultural resources. As a leading source of arts programs in Miami, A4L provides traditional and arts-integrated instruction, student studio programs, afterschool and summer programs, high school internships, and teacher and artist professional development. A4L’s programs augment cognitive, social, and emotional development in children and youth. The programs also develop creativity, critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills as well as promote positive peer relations and cultivate self-efficacy. A4L partners with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, and Young Audiences – A4L’s national affiliate. A4L also serves as the South Florida Wolf Trap, a regional program of Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning. A4L’s services are delivered to more than 120,000 children and youth in approximately 50 schools, preschools, after-school programs, and summer camps throughout Miami-Dade and Broward.
